Behind what seems to be a normal facade in Ghent you can find the museum of modern design. First, you can discover the world and interior of an 18th-century family house of a normal Ghent family. In the new wing of the museum, you can discover decorations and design peace of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The art nouveau collection as an example is one of the most complete ones in Belgium Also the interbellum period is widely covered. Later collections get their inspiration from Belgian and Italian designers. Also very interesting are the temporary exhibitions.
