The Museum of Dr. Guislain is a museum located in Ghent, where the history of psychiatry is displayed using objects, art, and research. The museum opened its doors in 1986.
It is housed in the old hospital grounds of the Psychiatric Center Dr. Guislain and is named after the psychiatrist Joseph Guislain. The museum is built inside the oldest psychiatric hospital in Belgium, it was founded in 1857. In addition to an extensive and impressive permanent collection, three to four additional exhibitions are organized each year.
